Editing Progress

Image
So, today whilst we were editing we noticed a slight issue with some of the shots. The LED light also made an appearance in the shot. We didn't notice this when filming and when watching the clips back through the viewfinder, which was probably due to having such a dark room with a dark background which made it difficult to see in such little light. We all worried that we would have to film these shots again, and it may look out of place as we probably wouldn't be able to get everything the same as we did that day of filming. However, we found a solution! Our lifesaver was Adobe Photoshop. In this, we used the "Clone Stamp" tool to remove the light without making it look obvious due to a difference in colour if  we were to simply just insert a black photo or cropping the clip and risking changing the aspect ratio. The tool works by selecting part of the clip you want to duplicate, in our case, we selected the black background and then you 'paint' over the ...

Beginning to Edit

Just an update after we had filmed multiple shots over the holiday, we have now started editing our music video. Although we haven't finished filming yet we though that getting started on the editing now will be beneficial for us as this will help us meet the deadline of the music video. By starting to edit our video, it enables us to discover any gaps or any problems which need filming again. This will then determine if we need to film a clip again etc. As this is the first day of editing our music video, we are just continuing to add all the right clips in according to the storyboard to ensure we have as little complications as possible.  Today we downloaded the song and we are focusing on making sure that the lip syncing parts of the music video to ensure that its all in time and it will look more professional. We have decided that we are going to add effects and so on to the music video when all the clips are put together.

Preview of our website

Image
This is the first preview of our website. We thought that the black, white and grey theme would be perfect for 'DAKOTA'. We ca me up with a concept for the website and album to tie in together with the artist. Below is the homepage created which involves the name of the artist 'DAKOTA' along with links to social media and contact details. I personally liked this simple layout as it then meant the first seen page wasn't over crowded and springing information on the viewer straight away. As you scroll down the page, you find more information on the artist, along with further contact details and merchandise. As you can see from looking below, there's still work to do, but will hopefully be finished soon!

Filming: Day Two

Image
Hey guys!  So today we filmed in our second location. We filmed within the woods and next to the pond. We managed to get a wide variety of shots, this includes shots such as a mid shot, high angle, over-the-shoulder, tracking and panning shots to ensure that we had a variety of different shots in different locations to keep the audience interested whilst watching the music video. We made sure on the day that we didn't forget our storyboard, as this would direct us so we miss any shots and risk having to come back to re-film. A problem with re-filming and why we made sure we had a variety of shots was that the weather may have changed or Amy could look different compared to the first shots we took, this would make it as the consistency of the shots would be an issue.  To achieve the shots we used the tripod for stable shots and a shoulder mount for the steady tracking shots. We used the DSLR camera for high-quality shots, and to make sure that everything was in foc...

Shooting Schedule 2

Here is our shooting schedule for our second day of filming. The shooting schedule includes information on what each member needs to bring such as costumes and props, filming equipment etc.

First day shooting!

Image
Hi Guys! Today was our first day of filming our music video, and we managed to get most of It filmed. This is very beneficial for me due to us filming quite late into the process. The parts that we filmed today were the lip syncing parts inside. The lip syncing behind the black screen was the most important part of our music video to film as it is in the majority of our  video, making it the most important part to film. We thought it would be a good idea to film this today because the weather wasn't so great for us to film parts of the music video which were needed outside. We made sure to film each clip more than once to make sure in the post production stages of editing the clips, we didn't have to film any parts again as this could've been difficult as Amy (the main character in the music video) would've had to make sure that all her clothing, hair, makeup etc. was the same as it was today. Here are some photos from the filming today:

Our Logo for 'DAKOTA'

Image
Hey guys!  We've made some creations for o ur logo for our artist. It is very important that we create a logo as it is a visual representation of the artist. By having a logo for our artist, it allows for merchandising of the artist such as printing on t-shirts, jumpers, bags etc. The identity of the artist can be shown through the logo, this is typically the memorable aspect of the artist when the audience sees it during advertisements such as album promotions, CD covers, etc.

Risk Assessment

Image
Here is our first risk assessment for when filming our music video. The risk assessment will identify any risks that may occur when filming and ensure that we can prevent these risks and cautions of any possible hazards to protect any individuals involved. The risk assessment has been checked by each participants in our group and has been signed by our teacher which will ensure that all the risks are identified, here is our risk assessment:
